Leave of absence for school staff, students returning from H1N1 affected nations

SINGAPORE: Singapore's Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced several precautionary measures to deal with the H1N1 flu when schools reopen on June 29.

The MOE said it will issue a seven-day leave of absence to all school staff and students returning from affected countries on or after June 22. The measure will also apply to kindergartens and childcare centres.

The ministry said schools will remind all their staff and students to exercise social responsibility to declare their travel history if they have been to the affected countries.

It added that they are to stay at home for seven days before returning to school if they have visited the affected countries.

Speaking at a news conference, Education Minister Ng Eng Hen said the ministry believes about one to two per cent of students and staff will return from the affected countries.

Dr Ng added that if clusters are found in schools, then some classes, or if necessary, the whole school will be closed for a period of time.

Singaporeans will have to be prepared for these disruptions as and when clusters are found.

Turning to specific measures in schools, the ministry said that when school reopens, there will be temperature taking twice daily until further notice.

There will also be screening of travel history. Schools will send travel declaration forms to all staff, parents of students, vendors and service providers before school reopens to update their travel history.

When schools reopen on Monday, teachers will check the travel declaration forms to ensure all students in the classroom have not travelled to affected countries.

1ST JUNE

after not blogging for such a long time, im back again ! currently i'm laughing mad about my maid's newly reborned hair. oh-my-goodness...... i cant stand it. will be having lessons for 2nd june till 10th june. then jurong island on the 11th june and i no need to go back school already. then i can "enjoy" my TWO weeks holiday. seriously need a haircut, and some shopping this holiday. oh-my-god, my brain automatically switched to holiday mood already. how sad, no holiday for me, and my fellow classmates for the moment. so, i must start planning now, if not i think i wont have enough time to cover all my subjects. next week i'll start to stay back with the same group of people after my triple s. i've already planned for this week, weekdays i will attend school as usual, attend triple s and any other extra lessons. and in the weekend, have to go praying with my relative and i need to head to some where, to get my brother's school bag. hopefully we could get a suitable one for my brother, if not he's complaining how tired his shoulder was. he told me he saw one at amk hub though, whatever it is, as long as he's comfortable anything would be ok.

next week, monday to wednesday i'll be staying back after school for self study with my group of lovelies. thursday i'll be going to school, but im going home early at 1005am as i've something to attend to, friday is labour day, which means i have a longgggg 4 days weekend for me HAHAHA.

SERENE is being cute today to play scissors paper stone with me today while walking up the stairs. loose = one step up. win = one step down. we did this all the way till we reach our class. next time we shall try this from the 1st floor all the way to our 4th floor class ok serene ~

he was so small back then, looking back at those photos, i've realised, time passed so fast without me knowing, in a blink of eye, baby is already 3++ years old. he have brought so much happiness in our life. from he don't know how to walk, till now, the way he interact with us, i admit he have really grown up alot alot.

i still remember when he took this photo, he dont even know how to talk, dont even have the ability to walk. somehow, i missed those times when i try to pacify him, teaching him how to walk in the baby-walker, the fear of leaving him alone in the baby-shaker, now, he've grown up, being such a naughty boy. he's so cute now, whenever i show him the cane, he will come beside me try to hug me, to tell me not to cane him, how cute. this baby of mine is non other than BABAO !

lady luck is not with me today, hit my leg today at the ava room's chair, causing a blue black with a scratched now. went home, i was complaining about hitting my leg accidently in school to mummy, while she's listening to my complains, she says " xian, off the switch for me". i bend down to switched it off, then when i get up, i hit my head hard on the edge of the cupboard. OUCH ! i hit it really hard, then mummy was laughing at me. now i've got another blue black on my head, but luckily my hair covers it (: but it still hurts uh !

today the whole morning leg cramp. most of the girls in class are having this problem. we have difficulties of standing up, we were all scared of standing up because of the cramp. and some of us were holding our thigh while walking, holding the railing while climbing stairs, what a sight hah! yesturday's duck walk is the cause for our cramp. while walking up the stairs today, we were looking at the other 4Es and Yvonne was telling us, look at them, they are walking like us. LOL, bet many people are cursing rabbit for ytd's pe.

while lining up in the morning, i was reading the newpaper which nurul is holding. and we were both talking about the maid abusing article, and she claims that i'm crapping.

because i said something like " it must be the maid have done something wrong luh, if not the employer couldn't be so prevertic or what to abuse their maid. "

having my maths and poa paper today marks the end of my 1st prelim. i'm not going to say about my prelim, as it's over, what is done can't be undone. i still have my 2nd, 3rd prelim and lastly my o level exam. intensive mother tongue study is coming soon i think? though teacher haven't say anything about it yet, but i can sense it and every one was talking about it. i hope it starts sooner, i don't know why, but i just feel that the sooner the better.

as my paper ends today, so i need not go school tomorrow. i think in going market in the morning as early as 8am, by myself, bet mummy would be shocked after knowing that i've went to the market tomorrow. will be heading over to changi, sin ming and serangoon tomorrow to get some stuff done.

school was fine :) dont want to elaborate much on that, cos everyday blog about my every day life i also sian. cos im doing the same thing almost every day, as i dont have much entertainment now, basically everyday, go school, after school stay back for triple s, or stay back for more revision then home. thats my routine, i must bear with it for the next 8 - 9 months. hope i can do it, continue like that all the way. the reason for blogging earlier today is because, i have to do my homework and stuff after this post, if not i keep have the urge to come blogging. so blog first then i'll concentrate on doing my things (:

having flag day earlier on, after that went back home, bathe, changed and makeup then go out to meet mandy ! :) meet her at mrt there, she was so on time lor, or i was late rather. after that mrt-ed to bishan, meet ahboy there. had our sakae lunch cum dinner, cos we're super full. and ahboy says " very full " then mandy continued " damn full " then i says " fucking full " LOL. then ahboy says call that " fucking fool pay money " lol, they were so playful and bad lor, keep donwan to let the aunties there keep their plate. photo taking, challenging who took the nicest, and of cos is me la ! LOL. took the nicest photo liao, then they deny by saying is my angle better to take nicer photo. was crapping, chatting while we are trying to digest our food. :) after that sushi lunch cum dinner, ahboy went separate ways with us, then me and mandy go popular see books, after that to np walk walk then home sweet home. i go remove makeups and prepared to go jogging with my brother. super dark and scary out there, cos we were running at 7 =.=

ok i have to sleep now, darn tired, and thanks mandy for that meal. dont forget the ajisen meal next time uh. :) okok blog tomorrow :)

school was fine today, except those boring talks, when yeo give talk early in the morning in hall today, i fell a sleep. and get caught by ms thomas. lesson was okay, poa was getting cooler, cos i know how to do :) chemistry lesson, did my practical with serene, chatting and doing at the same time, i love her most already ! after recess, had maths test, its uber easy. after that chinese, did test, when its time to pass up then i realise i didnt do those questions behind, arse... i think im going to fail already. after that went down to canteen together with nurul, get my greentea, pocky and bao then went back to class. have my english triple s after that do poa corrections then went home at 0245 with chris and ruiliang.

brother is behind me, " fire in the hole " " head shot " LOL. playing online cs. i want play too. going to ask him help me download in my com soon.

its flag day again tomorrow, i have to reach school at 0815 take that tin, then i'll be station at my home, calling my whole family to " dong " $1 into my tin, as it says must be more then $10. and thats the exact number of my family members, plus my maid, $11 and thats more than $10. and i'll stay at home till 1230 then go back school to report. cool.

then after my flag day.... sushi meeting with mandy and ah boy ! huu huu !

yesturday while sintua.com-ing, i found more of my sintua's yewkeng pics. and they are...

spot me? im in every pic :) i look super ugly that day la. cos wearing that marchiam " sai gong " shirt and without makeup, some more that day sun so big, super hot larhh. sun tanning all the way on the lorry, with my hair flying around like siao zabor like that. so regret didnt tie up luh, till i have no choice go stuff my hair into my shirt =.=

nah ! now u know how i look in my " sai gong " uniform liao luh. was chatting with ah qian all the way lor. and when we go to the last temple, me and her dont want to stay in our group, we start running around, see them tiao tang and stuff, till our lorry didnt want to wait for us, have to squeeze other people's lorry. after that we realised we have to walk one distance all the way back to tentage, we faster jump down from lorry and run back to join our group. you all can imagine 2 siao girls running along the road side, chiong-ing here and there. so ps lor.

LOL, after this im going to do my planning for this weekend, and do some homework. okays BYE.

these few days didnt take any pictures, so no new pictures are up, only some photos that i have took some time ago but didnt post out. :)

today cca cancel so came back home at 3 :) but it'll be starting next week. so, came home, help brother to set up new computer's table, re-arrange the room and wiring stuff till 5. then go bath and sintua.com till now.

how simple right, everyday's life same same de. didnt study today, cos my eyes totally stick onto sintua.com

brother keep remind me to study my theory, whenever he reminds me, i will tell him very easy wan la. then he will say, dont playplay hor. LOL.

after this post im going to bed, as it is going to be a long day in school for me tomorrow. cos after school tomorrow there will be triple s till 3, then i'll be having my stupid cca at 0330 till i donno what time. hope it ends at 0430. i dont want to stay in school for so long =.=

okays, today in school mood swings, aiya, thats very normal, my classmates will know. if i keep quiet means, you better dont f**king come and disturb me, i'll be glad that you just ignore me. and if i look at you without expression, it doesnt mean anything, cos everyone tot that i'm diao-ing them when i look at them without any expression, idk why, but its what they says.

went school at 0840
CDP : did nothing much, do flag day worksheet discussion bout that " whos ur neighbour " thing
GEOGRAPHY : did nothing much, listening to teacher and copy notes
RECESS : eat pocky only.
PHYSICS : go through that mock exam paper and start new chapter
ENGLISH : summary writting
CHINESE : didnt listen so much in her lesson, was talking to ruiliang. LOL
after that school ends, then home-sweet-home :)

didnt went to school today, as i over slept. i really over slept, not purposely dont go to school, i even packed my school bag and stuff already ok. woke up at 10plus, walk out of my room saw mummy, she was shocked that i didnt went to school, started to nag at me. went into the kitchen make tea and i had 2 cakes and egg tart for my breakfast. after that i must act guai, immediately go inside my room to study. if not she got more to nag, after a few minutes she call me go out company her read newspaper, then i know she ok already :) after a while she went out and i continue study. was reading my poa text book high-lighting and copying some notes, after that do up my study plan.

32 more days to prelim 1. gosh.... have to start studying :)

less shopping, less sin tua-ing, less sleeping, less drinking, less sms-ing and start studying !
